Turns out that this song is written about the last letter from 林觉民,One of the 72 Martyrs who lost his life in the Yellow Flower Mound Revolt,also known as Second Guangzhou Uprising, to his wife.
In the Revolt,86 bodies were found,but 72 bodies were identified.
But historians believed that the uprising was a direct cause of the Wuchang Uprising,which eventually led to Xinhai Revolution and the founding of the Republic Of China
