What happens when a story of a historical figure meets mythological figure.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a fictional story, weaving between the 16th President of the United States of America and the folklore of Vampires.
Having said so, this film is a film adaptation from its 2010 Mashup novel by Seth Grahame-Smith,which sees Abraham Lincoln having a secret identity as a Vampire Hunter.
(No wonder I was thinking what is the link between Abraham and Vampire for most of the time over the weekend.)

Synopsis:
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of one of the
greatest US presidents, and the untold story that shaped a nation.
Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of
Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the bloodthirsty lore of the
vampire, imagining Lincoln as history's greatest hunter of the undead.
My Take:
Didn't know there's a 3D version for this, else I will hop into the theatre and watch the 3D version instead.
With the blood oozing effect in every slay on the vampire and the wood bits dispersing out in 2D version,it looks as real as what an action packed film would expect.
The film is like a biography of Abraham Lincoln, but with the inclusion of the Vampire in the whole plot, marking the end of slavery, promoting economic and financial modernization in his speech, the wedding proposal to his loved one, the Civil war he supervised and the ending scene where he was on the way to the Ford's Theatre which was believed that he was assassinated is chronologically correct,as according to the information from the White House.
The character looks are in a way similar to the original figures, kudos to the effects and special make up for the film.
It is an insane experience watching it...and
DANG!
I SHOULD HAVE WATCHED IT IN 3D
The Trailer
My Rating: 4/5 Stars
