The Lady:My admiration was made to this lady, Ms, Aung San Suu Kyi

Having to have heard great feedbacks from a group of friends about this film.I decided to check it out on my own and YES! on my own.(And coincidentally this is the 3rd Biopic I had caught in 2 months.)

About the film
A biopic of a Burmese Pro-Democracy Activist, leader and political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi and the tenacious long-distance bond she maintained with her British husband, Michael Aris while under house arrest for over a decade.

My Take

It is indeed a sweet 2 hours of history lesson about the Burmese Pro-Democracy Activist, the life of Aung San Suu Kyi and her route to fight for democracy for Burma, from the iconic figure which arises from the 8888 uprising to the sore in the eye of the Burma Socialist Programme Party, the sole political party to be legally existed in Burma.

Of course, despite the dark side of Burma, the story was divided to her love life and as a mother of 2. Her husband, Late Dr. Michael Aris, served as her pillar of support during the pro-democracy movement.

What has brought me to attention about the film is the humour in a scene where Aung San Suu Kyi became the hero for being fearless and the 2 generals became a laughingstock over gossips among the supporters in the market.

This film has not only been "made" for Aung San Suu Kyi,but it also reflects the humiliation people faced through the masscare, being locked in a dog cage in the prison.

This film has also inspired me with this quote "Democracy works if you involves everyone." Indeed it's true and it has got me full of Admiration and Respect to this lady who is willing to sacrifice for the Nation of Burma over the offer of freedom once she's out of Burma.

Overall I enjoy this film experience and heard sniffing from the touching moments in the theatre.indeed it's a great film with such a great story plot.

Shot in a red scaled tone throughout the film and including contributed clips from colleagues of the captured correspondences ,"The Lady" is one of the favourite biopic film among the 3 biopic films I have caught.(Other 2 biopic films includes J.Edgar and The Iron Lady),and I would say it's worthwhile to check it out.

"The Lady" is now screening at Golden Village Cinemas, rated NC16
My rating: 4/5 stars
