Corrinne May's Crooked Lines.

It has been some times since I last wrote a music review here.
Not that I am going on pirate, but now there's not really new releases that I choose to invest my time in.
In addition, I was way too busy to listen to music for the past few months, apart from Listening to music while working.

But...Now I have one reason to write this review.
Corrinne May's Crooked Lines
Corrinne May's latest release, titled Crooked Lines, was launched last week.
Inspired while watching her 3 years old daughter's drawing with crayons one afternoon.Quoted from Corrinne,“She was drawing what seemed to me to be random, crooked lines all over the drawing paper, but she was telling me exactly what she was drawing- namely, a butterfly. And I thought to myself, perhaps
that’s how it is in life. Life is never a journey that goes in a straight line. Just like sailing, we reach our destination with ‘zig-zaggedness’, with crooked lines.”

Indeed, life is never a journey that goes in a straight line.Hence, let's see what I have recommended from the album.

My Recommendation:
  1. Crooked Lines
  2. 24 Hours
  3. When I Close My Eyes
  4. Pinocchio
  5. Just What I Was Looking For
  6. Because of Love
For the first time I selected close to half of the album worth of songs to recommend. This is the first time I experience the artiste's effort in her work.Something real worthwhile to check out for.

With such an angelic vocals,Corrinne has touched me in this album, perhaps from her album,I sense a grown up in terms of her work. I happened to hear a couple of her past works previously from the chirpy ones like "Little Superhero girl" to her melancholy hits like "Save me" and "Journey",and it was a real nice change of style she has done.

Most of her songs from this albums are mostly inspired from her daily life while residing in Los Angeles, as a mom of her 3 years old daughter ,and also as a individual who sees her world in her perspective. It is also an album that serves as an report on how she is after being a mom of 1 daughter to her fans who are concerned about her in Singapore (Though she is real sweet to have share her life in Los Angeles via newsletters every now and then.)

In conclusion,I am impressed by this album by Corrinne May,was really proud of the home girl and welcome back to Singapore for performances. An album that you have to really check it out!(if it's not a recommended album,I wouldn't have singing my praises to this album afterall.)
My Rating: 4/5.

"Crooked Lines" are now available in all major CD stores.
